First Aid: Why is it so Important?

First aid are actions to carry out and help anyone who may need it. The Ainco Foundation indicates what to do in these cases.

Having knowledge on how to help a person who suffered an accident is important. We never know when something unexpected can happen around us, and, not knowing how to attend that emergency, can lead into something worst.
In communities and homes, there are certain accidents, which require attention: burns, wounds by sharp objects, falls, breathing problems, headaches and stomachaches, fever¸ etc., and is essential that people assist the wounded or affected while he is taken to the nearest health center. This assistance is called first aids.
The knowledge of how to help a victim sets the difference between something simple, severe, or fatal. The Ainco Foundation, and its president, Mr. Edgard Leoni, explain what to do in case of emergency:
Knowing what to do in case of emergency can save a life

1. - Remain calm: Around a wounded person, everything is chaos and confusion. Whoever does first aids needs to remain calm to attend the wounded correctly until help arrives.
2. - Send away curious people: Congregations, instead of beneficiating, tend to have the opposite effect. Only the person doing first aids has to be with the wounded.
3. - Calm down the patience: Is important to keep the patience calmed so he can be checked and determine what first aids to give, being anxious or in distress can make the situation worst.

4. - Don’t feed the wounded or give him medicines: Since it can be contra producing. It is better to wait for a specialist to attend it.
5. - In case of burning: If there is a burning, wash the area gently with abundant cold water. If it an acid burn, alkaline metal, or a carburant it needs to be dry first before applying water. Afterwards, cover the area with gauze or a clean and dry cloth, do not use cream, nor ground coffee. Take the person to a hospital, immediately.
Always ask for professional help

6. - If there is a wound: Clean it with clean water, cover it with a clean cloth, and go the doctor.

7. - Do not move the wounded: If the person suffered a fall, do not move him until an ambulance arrives with the proper medical assistance, since we do not know how severe it is.
8. - Do only the necessary: If you are in situation that requires first aids, do only what is essential until medical assistance arrives, or the patience is taken to nearest health center.

With these advices you can save a life, or prevent bigger consequences.
